At its best, blogging is a participatory enterprise.
You write about what is going on in your life inviting, albeit virtually, all your online pals over for a conversation about whatever is on your mind.
Or whatever has been on the mind of someone else that struck your fancy at some recent moment.
And you wait...sometimes impatiently...for someone to converse back with you, to make a connection, to hit a nerve, or to illuminate something in a way that strikes a chord deep within another's heart.
Of course, the only way you know that you are doing this is for people to comment and let you know what they like and what they loathe.
Which is where the invitation comes in today. Step out of the shadows and say howdy, gang. Please.
What do you like? What could you use more of in terms of topics and conversation? What could you do without altogether?
Consider this your invite to sit down with a warm cuppa and kvetch. In the comments. No really, I'll start...

I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you to the folks who have been using the Amazon search link on this blog for purchases lately. I get a small percentage of whatever you've bought, and it has enabled me to buy a book on library organization for school libraries that I'll use for the Peanut's school.
Once we can finally get to the library reorganization at some point in the not-too-distant future, I hope, anyway. The book is very helpful, and I thought that was a good use of blog-earned money.
The internet is awfully cool.
Hi Christy!
I first "met" you as a lurker on FDL, and now I lurk here, too, with an occasional comment.
I enjoy reading your blog. I am interested in your decision about what camera you eventually buy and how your trip is shaping up for next summer. These things in your life touch things I do and am interested in.
I really like your recipes! I am throwing the curry soup ingredients in the crock pot tomorrow, actually.
And, coincidentally, our blogs are both about "comfort and joy" so we have that in common, too.
About me: Native Texan transplanted to Louisiana and now live in PA. I'm a UCC pastor who is very liberal politically and theologically. The best recent news in my life is that I became a new grandma about 4 months ago.
Oooooh, Sharon -- a grandbaby, how fun! My mom says that it is great because you can cuddle and play and spoil them rotten, and then hand them back for the discipline, which makes it more fun for her. When Fiona was first born, her next door neighbors bought Fi a onesie that said "what happens at Grandma's, stays at Grandma's" and that's been pretty true.
I hope you have as much joy with your grandchild as she does. LOL
And I'll have some camera news shortly, too. Just looking at all the options has been a blast...
Oooooh, they've discovered 2 new dinosaur species in southern Utah. How fun is that?!?
