Wrapping Up
You're a mean one, Mr. Grinch...
We finally managed to get our tree up yesterday. It was an all day slog, and included a fight with our pre-lit tree which no longer wants to light. Arrrrrgh.
Mercifully, we had enough spare light strings as leftovers in the Christmas storage to make it work. So long as no one looks at it really closely, it is lovely.
Today is all about getting things wrapped and ready.
Am so behind this year, it is absolutely crazy. But it will be fine.
Perfection is an illusion, and there is absolutely no reason to stress out about something that really ought to be about spending time together, anyway. And so? I am letting the little things go and concentrating on what I can get done in a reasonable way without wearing myself out, because my body is still healing and I need to be mindful of that first and foremost for my family's sake as well as mine.
This year's Christmas motto: do what you can and let the rest go. It will be a much, much happier Christmas if I do.
