Keep Moving Forward

When life tries to knock you down, you just have to get up and keep moving forward anyway.

Right?

But that doesn't mean the loss of someone dear to you is not a profoundly difficult blow in the early days as you adjust to the new normal.  It is what it is, and you keep moving forward anyway with as much grace and joy and love as you can muster for those around you.

Some care and grace and love for yourself at a time when you are grieving is a good idea, too.

It is a lesson hard-learned for our little family over the last few years, but one we are trying to take to heart today.

Life moves forward.  I look at this picture taken of The Peanut on our recent beach trip -- her vibrancy thrumming out as she relishes her joy at running, and my overwhelming love and enjoyment of the little lady she has grown up to be right under our noses pulling me back into that place and time together on the shore.

No matter how difficult the next steps ahead, there is always joy somewhere just ahead.

The key is to actively work to find it, that especially on the darkest of days one should always look to the light wherever it can be found.
