It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas...
Here's the view from where I sit in my sunroom.
Our tree is up and lit this morning. It's snowing outside at the moment, too, although not the sort that piles up or sticks around for long. Just enough this morning to give everything a sugar-frosted look.
It's lovely from inside our snug little house, but not so much for the folks driving to work.
The bird feeders are freshly filled, so I should be inundated with grateful, hungry and fluffed out for the cold birdies any time now.
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...
PS -- Yes, I took this photo myself. With my birthday camera -- I got a Canon EOS Rebel T2i (with an 18-135mm lens).
Took me a little while to get the right angle, so that it looks like Alice and the March Hare are helping me look for birdies on our giant feeder out front. LOL
I absolutely love, love, LOVE my new camera. With everything that happened with our family's loss in October, I just never got around to talking about it. But I've taken a number of play around shots and am finally getting comfy with all the bells and whistles on this thing.
I'll talk a lot more about the camera going forward. Am thinking about taking a class or two, but for now I'm enjoying just playing with composition and focus, and trying to learn about the software that enables you to tinker with the pictures afterward -- it's a whole new world, and lots and lots of creative fun, I have to say.

too too cute. i immediately thought of your tea party when i saw the ornaments.
love the feeder in the background
That's why we got that one, Suz -- it was purchased as a memory of the party because it was too perfect to pass up. The other side has the Mad Hatter. I'll try to get a good shot of it head on so you can see...
Dang, that is quite a camera! I'm looking at them now - so many models! So many choices! It's dizzying. But your pictures are gorgeous!
I suggest going to a store and trying them out to see how they feel in your hands, not just looking at specs online. I tried several to see which felt most comfortable among the ones that had the features I liked. Because of my lupus issues, comfort is important so my fingers don't clench up too much -- since everyone's hand size and strength varies, I think it's really important to find the one that works for you. That said, the features on cameras these days are amazing -- it was really mind-blowing when we started looking at what they could do with just a flick of a dial. Amazing technology these days.
