Through a freak accident involving a dog and a hot pot of soup yesterday, I have a pretty severe burn on my leg that we are having to deal with at the moment. Mercifully, The Peanut wasn't injured and the dog appears to have missed any injury as well.
And for me? It's a huge owie, but I will live.
Things will be interrupted here for a few days, though, while I heal up. Sorry for the interruption gang, but it can't be helped.
PS -- The answer is: for a fairly sizeable 2nd degree burn, you don't want to mess around. And it hurts like hell, too, but that eases off after the first few hours. Antibiotic ointment and nonstick gauze are now my friends.

Sorry to hear about your accident. It reminds me of a similar accident my maternal grandmother had -- she spilled hot, boiling candy down the front of both of her shins. I don't know it happened, but I do remember her scars.
Hopefully, your injury will heal well. Take care.
Curious (from FDL days)
Hugs and much sympathy! I had a similar outcome from a canning accident some years ago involving a boiling water bath. Take good care!
