Beautiful pictures fascinate me: the composition, the color, that little something that pulls your eye and makes you want to leap into the photograph itself.
I've always wanted to do that, to learn to capture a moment and make it sing.
Am thinking about taking a photography class, but the time constraint with so many other things on my plate makes me a little leery.
Anyone learn to do really good photos through reading and practice without taking a class? Any books to suggest for something like this?
Or was it better to take a class, to get the hands-on tutorial and instant feedback?
I've started looking at potential better cameras than my little point and click one (which I love, but isn't exactly a detail camera.)
The impending driving vacation for next summer is spurring me forward on this: I want to take some gorgeous landscape shots and lots of wildlife snaps, including lots of The Peanut and Mr. ReddHedd, to share and keep.
But I feel inadequate to the task. Utterly.
Since there is plenty of time, though, between now and then? I can have some fun learning something new and playing around with a new artistic craft.
In other words, have some fun. Doesn't that sound like fun? It sure does to me.
Thoughts on good first cameras for a beginner? Books on technique? Ideas? I'm all ears...
(Gorgeous shot of sunset at Yellowstone via Stuck in Customs. Cannot wait to see these in person.)
