Sunset on Hilton Head Island

Our last day of vacation truly was magical.  The Peanut and I got up for a sunrise walk and saw some dolphins out frolicking in the surf:  a momma and her young one trying to catch a little fish and having a lot of fun while doing so.  The Peanut was spellbound, as was I, as we scurried along the beach trying to keep up with them.

It was gorgeous and I have plenty of pictures to share with everyone once I get time to get everything re-sized for the blog.

All three of us spent time at the Sea Pines Forest Preserve, hiking around and enjoying the day.  Then we drove out to the fishing pier areas on the far side of the island for lunch.  Then back for a late afternoon walk just before sunset, where we again got to see dolphins.  Truly, it was the perfect ending to a great vacation.

I took a bazillion shots of the sunset on our last day at Hilton Head Island.  It was absolutely magical.  Above is just one -- and it does not do justice to how gorgeous the sky was and how beautiful its reflection in the crashing surf was as well.  Really breathtaking scenery that last evening.

Below is how things looked just a few minutes before the one above.

We really had a great trip.  It was so wonderful to get a nice breather together, and even nicer to get so much time outside in the fresh air, listening to the crashing ocean surf and decompressing.

More as I get time, I promise.
