This landscape photo is just gorgeous, isn't it? Can't you just see some fairytale character walking out of the mists and into reality here?
I love pictures which conjure myths from the ether.
There is something primal, some echo of generations and ages past, that pulls me into a natural scene with a sense of wonder. Especially something like this that looks -- and feels -- so far from the hubbub of modern existence which is often so divorced from the natural world.
I don't often get this same feeling, frankly, in a big, concrete-covered parking lot.
What is it: ancestral thrall, genetic throwback to the days when we sat around fires in the wilderness and made up stories to explain away the darkness surrounding us?
Whatever it is, this photo is a setting for a grand tale.
And I am in the mood for some writing today. Serendipity to find a visual that pulls me further into a creative mood. Funny how sometimes that happens when you need it most.
(Gorgeously evocative photo via Denis Collette...!!! Just beautiful, and with a fuller portfolio to enjoy as well at the link.)
