Just a few random, pre-coffee thoughts to get the ball rolling today.
And then I have to get ready to go to a wedding and host a chat with Frances Moore Lappe. Life is good.
-- Listening to my daughter sit with her westie puppy, and explain who people are in her kindergarten photo album makes me smile. Especially because, in her mind anyway, it was all so long ago. For me? It's just the blink of an eye. Perspective.
-- Our dachshund has an upset, gurgly tummy this morning. I'm hoping we have not ruined the dog-sitter's day with this. Getting old, even for spoiled, beloved dachshunds, is not for sissies.
-- Brewing coffee smells like heaven. Is it done yet? Why do I think that every minute and a half? If I worked at Starbucks, I'd be in a perpetual aroma coma.
-- Mr. ReddHedd is awesome, because he just brought me coffee.
-- The last two entries are more amusing if you read them in a Dug voice -- the dog from Up. Even more so if you add in the word "squirrel" here and there.
-- Filling my bird feeders and watching the little, winged beauties fly in and out to eat gives me a lot of joy. When pigeons show up? Not so much.
What's up with your day?

Hey Redd,
How's tricks? Just found my way here. Been living in a cave I guess.
I checked out the AinW party you threw for Fi. Too cool. AinW has always been a favorite of mine. Especially White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane and the Caterpillar & Cheshire Cat are two of the grooviest characters in history.
Sipping some Dunkin coffee from an AinW mug right now.
Google Paul Cardew Designs and check out the AinW stuff if you haven't seen his work before.
I hope all's well in your world, looks like you are rockin' on with priorities straight.
My youngest just started pre-first and the peanut's future hubbie is in 2nd grade. He's on the front page of www.westminster.net hitting the ball.
Have missed reading your wise musings at the lake, sure is a different community since the blogger days. Jane's built quite an empire.
Glad I could pop in and say "hello".
