RIP Lena Horne

Lena Horne and Sesame Street. Wonderful stuff.

And an enormous legacy from her to children of my age, who grew up knowing her as a hip "ABC" singer as well as a monumental presence on the big screen.

That she put children's educational programming on her front burner shows just how well she had her own priorities in place, doesn't it?  Especially after her own versions of stormy weather that she overcame throughout her career.

Such a talent and so much grace. What a loss.
