Whassup? Banana Chocolate High Fiber Oatmeal!

Today promises to be gorgeous here -- sunshine, warmth, and a whole lot of perennial flowers to be planted around the house.

But first?

I have been craving chocolate in the worst way for the last few days.  I picked up some Jello dark chocolate sugar free/fat free pudding cups that have helped as a quick snack to stave off the worst of it.

Alas, that wasn't enough this morning.

So I'm having a tasty bowl of oatmeal mixed with some Bob's Red Mill high fiber cereal blend (wheat bran, oat bran and ground flaxseed -- that'll get things moving!).  I mix this together and keep it in a cereal storage container on top of our fridge so I can scoop out a serving at a time to cook in the microwave.

The recipe for one serving is something like this:

1/2 c. old-fashioned oats mixed with high fiber cereal
1 c. + 1 Tbsp. water
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Mix together in a bowl.  Cook in microwave on HIGH for 4 1/2 minutes (or until you reach your desired state of mushiness).  Then add:

1  pkg. Splenda or Truvia
1 sliced banana
2 Tbsp. semi-sweet chocolate chips

It is heaven in a bowl.  I'm counting points for the chocolate, but it is so worth it this morning.
